Connekt, a member organization

The public-private initiative is made up of 125 government bodies, companies and knowledge institutes, each with their own reasons for participating in Connekt. The network belongs to all of its members and Connekt’s success is determined by this approach.

The parties involved in Connekt include national, regional and local governments (road administrators, policymakers, suppliers), industry (suppliers and users), administrators (telecom companies, private road administrators), users (transport companies, automobile associations, interest groups) and traffic experts, knowledge institutes and consultants.

The Connekt office is impartial and does not serve its own interests. Connekt does not need to compete with others and does not act as a representative. It is for this reason that Connekt is able to put organizations and subjects in contact with each other, where others are unable to do so.

In a general sense, Connekt ensures that its members are kept up to date about current developments. There are three types of membership, depending on the active role that a party wishes to take in helping to determine Connekt’s themes and strategies and the extent to which they wish to participate. These three types of membership are Funding Father, Premium Member and Regular Member. Funding Fathers are entitled to take a seat in the board.

Connekt, a network in motion

Like a branching root system (mycelium), Connekt works on ‘fertile ground’ in which innovative mobility initiatives shoot up if conditions are suitable. The mycelium’s underground system of roots has an innovative method of expanding and, if a certain area no longer contains enough ‘nutrients’, the root system will spread further afield. In the same way, Connekt provides a modest and ‘invisible’ network that brings parties together, enables new ideas to be developed and, ultimately, serves the prosperity and well-being of the Netherlands.

In order to adapt to current developments within the field of traffic and transport, the Connekt network is constantly on the move. Connekt’s mission is to create a strong network based on trust and well-oiled processes, all from the perspective of its motto “Connekt & Share”. The core of this is formed as a result of combining know-how with the right contacts. Connekt is therefore able to create a ‘community feeling’ to which parties from the mobility field are attracted.
